About
Canaan Casteel is a current student at the University of Texas in Arlington, pursuing a major in Visual Communication with a minor in Glassblowing. From a young age, Canaan has had a desire to create, experiment, and imagine new possibilities with any medium he pursues. Early exploration included Photoshop, video editing, music, and engineering projects. Growing up, Canaan excelled in his understanding of math, science, team building, and working with his hands, leading him to pursue education as a mechanical engineer. However, his desire to create artwork became more evident as he started to explore his own personal work, leading to him transfer to UTA to pursue his goals as an artist.
My Work"I believe experimentation in a material is the best way to learn about the world around us. Through the exploration of different technical concepts such as weight, form, balance, light, and more I draw viewers into a piece that connects to personal stories and concepts I have to share with the world."
